The troubled residents of Munyuki sub location in Lugari sub county now want a fraud case against their assistant chief Ken Magwaga expedited to allow him resume duties or kick off the process of recruiting a new officer.
Led by Mzee Peter Mukasia Malucha, the residents have complained that for the last three years they have not been represented. As a result, they added that the absence of the local administrator has denied them crucial government services. “Since the interdiction of our assistant chief we’ve administratively been affected so much, cases of insecurity are rampant. Our children who have reached the age of getting national identity cards have to walk several kilometers for them to get application forms,” they lamented.
The residents observed that the case had unnecessarily taken longer than expected. Responding to their concern area deputy county commissioner William Lenaremo said it was important for the government to await for the court’s decision before taking further action.
He said the residents will at the moment be served by the newly installed neighboring Mwamba sub-location assistant chief Mr. Edwin Alukhaba Nashirobe in acting capacity until the case was determined.
