Teacher Service Commission (TSC) Busia County Director Ibrahim Rugut has sent a stern warning to teachers in Busia County against conducting tuition during the August holiday. The Commission’s Busia County Director has warned that any teacher who will be found offering tuition studies to learners either in school or at their home will be sacked, “Let teachers allow students and pupils to rest at home with their parents because they have been in school for long. As a commission we are not going to spare any teacher who will be found going against the regulation on tuition which banned it.”
Rugut has also called on parents to be close to their children during the holiday and guide them against involvement in sex which can lead to early pregnancies, drug abuse and associating with outlawed groups.
“We are calling on parents to help us look after the learners who are their children, to advise them so that they don’t engage in sex considering high levels of unwanted pregnancies in the County. They should also discourage them from drug abuse, taking alcohol and joining criminal and terror groups which are targeting the youth so that when schools open they be ready to sit for the exams in third term.”
