Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok has said his leadership will continue cooperating with the West Pokot County government and the security agencies in ensuring that the insecurity along the borders is totally eradicated.
Nanok said that so far all the elements which used to cause havoc along the highway have been defeated which is giving room for business to thrive and improve the living standards of the pastoralist communities who have been fighting for decades.
Governor Nanok spoke when he handed over food donations from his County to the West Pokot Governor at Chepkornishwo secondary school to be dispatched to families affected by the tragic landslides.
Nanok came with one fully loaded truck of food which had 216 bags of maize, 43 bags of beans, cooking oil, 50 cartons of milk and mosquito nets.
Nanok said that the milk was donated by a business community in Lodwar town. West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo lauded the great gesture from the neighbouring Turkana County and all those who’ve continued to offer support to the affected families in West Pokot.
Lonyangapuo further said that they will continue working together with Governor Nanok in initiating development projects at the volatile border points. He said that the support he received from the Turkana leadership through their Governor when it comes to tackling insecurity has been immense and vowed to forge ahead with same spirit.
