Two brothers aged 12 and 9 years died after drowning into a well in Lumakanda village, Lumakanda location Lugari Sub County.
According to Caleb Achaga, the grandfather to the deceased children, their mother instructed them to get water from the well but they slipped into the water flooded borehole without immediate help.
Achaga said the deceased children attempted to help one another unfortunately their struggle didn’t succeed.
“Deceased’s mother who was washing clothes had asked his young sons to get water from the well for their cows but has ended into a tragedy,” said Achaga.
Achaga said deceased children were repairing their broken wheelbarrow before they joined their mother near the well which is about 50 meters from their home.

Their mother Enrica Nabwire said her late children had offered to give water to their cows when she was busy washing clothes using water from the well.
Sobbing Nabwire was hanging clean clothes which she had washed but when she approached the well the dead silence which invited her was abnormal.
“I was shocked to see bodies of my sons floating in water,” she said.
The bodies of the two children were later removed by officers from Lumakanda police station and taken to Kimbilio Mortuary in neighbouring Uasin Gishu county.
