Two children of one family died while one sustained serious injuries after they were hit by a speeding vehicle at Maparo junction along Soy – Kogo road in Sango Sub Location, Likuyani Sub County.
Confirming the incident, Sango Sub Location assistant Chief Frida Lusweti Shirengo said the three children among them two girls and a boy were on their way to the posho mill when they were knocked by a speeding car belonging to Heritage Secondary school.
She said the three were rescued and rushed to Likuyani Sub County hospital where the youngest girl was pronounced dead upon arrival at the facility.
The remaining two were treated at the hospital before being referred for expert medical attention at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Eldoret where the second girl died while undergoing treatment.
The boy is still admitted at the hospital in critical condition.
The local administrator has appealed to drivers and other road users to always be careful while on the road in order to avoid unnecessary accidents.
