Scores are feared dead after a Mombasa-bound bus collided head on with a fuel tanker at Mundika market in Busia County on Friday afternoon.
Unconfirmed report says two passengers were burned beyond recognition as others with serius injuries were rescued by good Samaritans and rushed to various hospitals.
According to the Red Cross, fire erupted immediately after the head on collision. According to eye witnesses, the death toll could rise basing on the serious injuries of the victims who were rushed to hospitals. The bus was carrying 64 passengers heading to Mombasa.
This comes after another bus from the company heading to Malindi carrying 48 passengers burst into flames with all passengers being evacuated a fews weeks ago.
