Police officers in Busia County have launched investigations over the death of two people whose bodies were discovered by locals. In the first incident, a 17-year-old girl was found dead at the fence of their neighbour’s home after she went missing for three days.
Relatives of the standard seven girl say she disappeared on Saturday when she had gone to fetch water in the neighbourhood before the decaying and mutilated body was discovered on Tuesday evening by a villager.
Her fingers had been chopped off and the body had cuttings on the head and on her back according to locals led by Dismas Simwenyi, “Her pant was found inside the house of the owner of the home. it’s like some rituals had been performed on her body.”
Irate villagers were deterred by the police who scared them off by shooting in the air after they wanted to kill the woman. The officers whisked the woman away but locals still razed down her house.
They claim this is not the first incident of such kind to happen in the area, “These cases are becoming too much. My father was killed in the same way and buried, his body didn’t have the tongue. Today my niece has been brutally killed. We want the government to investigate and arrest those involved.”
And a sixty-year-old woman was found dead in Kaparas village, Teso South Sub County, Busia County.
The woman was last seen on Tuesday evening taking local brew at a homestead near her home before she was found on Wednesday morning dead on the path leading to her home.
Her body which had no injuries was removed from the scene and taken to Alupe Sub County hospital mortuary by Adungos police officers who have launched investigations to determine the cause of her death.
