Two perish in a road accident at Kaburengu in Matete

Two people died on spot following a fatal road accident that involved two vehicles and a motorcycle at Kaburengu along Eldoret – Webuye highway in Matete, Kakamega county.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident  occurred after a bodaboda rider who was carrying a passenger from Webuye heading towards Kaburengu was hit from the back by a Nissan matatu forcing him to lose control and sway into the road.

The two were then hit and crushed by a truck that was closely following the matatu immediately after crossing the Webuye bridge.

The accident occasioned a huge traffic snarl of about five kilometers stretching from Webuye  to Chimoi affecting transport on the busy highway.

Confirming the incident Chevaywa location chief Mr. Alex Goricho urged drivers to mind the lives of other road users and avoid unnecessary accidents that can be prevented.
