Two people among them a police officer died on the spot while three others sustained serious injuries following a road accident that involved two motorbikes at Spring Park along Webuye- Eldoret highway.
Confirming the incident, Lugari Sub County Police Commander Bernard Ngungu said the motorcyclist coming from Mwamba heading towards Turbo tried overtaking a lorry before losing control and collided head on with another motorcycle that was approaching from the opposite direction carrying two officers stationed at Turbo police station.
He revealed that the motorcyclist who was carrying police officers and one of the officers died on the spot while the second officer and the rider of the motorbike that caused the accident with his passenger sustained serious injuries.
The injured were rescued and rushed to Turbo Sub County hospital before being transferred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret for specialized medical attention.
The police boss called on motorists to be cautious on the road which is a black spot due to numerous accidents.
The two bodies were removed from the scene by officers from Turbo police station and taken to Kimbilio Funeral Home in the neighbouring Uasin Gishu County.
