Two rape suspects arrested in Trans Nzoia East

Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly raping an 18-year-old Form One girl in a Trans Nzoia East day school. The victim later passed away. According to Trans Nzoia County Police Commander Ayub Gitonga Ali, the accused, were arrested by detectives will be arraigned in court for murder related charges. The victim 18 years was a student at Chepkoyo secondary  in Trans Nzoia East sub county.

“On Sunday afternoon, she joined her friends to go for manual labour at Cheptoror in a lorry and was raped repeatedly by people who had accompanied her in the lorry,” said her aunt Winnie Sifuna at her Chepkoyo home.

Speaking to the media at her Chepkoyo home, her aunt said the girl
was repeatedly raped the whole night and the following morning she informed her parents who reside with her of the ordeal and they reported the matter to Kipsaina police station

However, the girl’s condition became worse and was admitted at the Kitale County Referral Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment. Sitatunga MCA Daniel Kaburu and area chief Joseph Wayele condemned the brutal incident and asked the police to arrest and charge other suspects who are at large.
