A Bungoma court on Monday ordered two suspects believed to be behind the Mt Elgon killings to be remanded until 19th of March to give the prosecution side more time to gather evidence before the commencement of their case.
Appearing before magistrate Gabriel Omondi, the two suspects, Alex Juma and Cleophas Sichei, are said to have been involved in several crimes including murder and robbery with violence in different places including Mt Elgon, Kimilili and Cheptais.
Their request to be granted a bond could not be allowed by the court as the prosecution side feared that the suspects did not have a specific home they were residing and could interfere with the witnesses by threatening them.
