Two women arraigned in a Kapenguria court for F.G.M
Two old women were on Thursday arraigned before the Kapenguria Principal Magistrate court accused of performing female genital mutilation to two girls.
Elizabeth Julius and Lulimle Chepnyorir were accused that on the 18th day of January 2016 at Kapela village within West Pokot county jointly performed the cut contrary to section 19(1) of the law.
They pleaded not guilty before the Principal Magistrate Musa Machage and were released on bond of Ksh. 300, 000 each, both were unable to raised the bond and put under police custody in Kapenguria.
Meanwhile in the same court Geoffery Losur was accused of stealing Ksh. 26,000 cash at the government office in Kapenguria.
Losur was accused that between the 18th and 19th day of January 2016 at Kapenguria area within West Pokot county, entered a building namely accounts clerk office of the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries where he committed the crime.
The accused pleaded not guilty and was released on a bond of Ksh. 200,000 or cash bail of Ksh. 100, 000. He was not able to raised the amount and put under the Kapenguria police custody.
The mention and hearing of the two cases were put on 5th February 2016 and 9th March 2016 respectively.
