Uncertainty in Wetangula’s presidential bid launch
Drama ensued in Kakamnega town early today following the wrangles between the Kakamega county governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula on the senator’s presidential launch bid that is to take place in Kakamega town tomorrow.
With barely hours to the launch, the county government of Kakamega has called upon the Ford Kenya party to consider carrying the event at Muslim primary school a call that has not been taken kindly by the senator’s supporters who have insisted that they will launch the bid at Muliro Gardens come what may.
The track carrying the podium and other materials expected to color the tomorrow’s venue were earlier blocked by county government security team on grounds that their permit is dated 2nd and not 1st.

It took the Kakamega Senator’s efforts to open the gate with force to allow the track access tomorrow’s venue.
Gates were locked with padlocks and manned by dozens of the county security team who did not allow anyone to access the venue until when the senator matched in and ordered they be opened.
Addressing the public at the Muliro Gardens, senator Khalwale assured that the launch will take place at the Gardens tomorrow asking governor Oparanya to host his parallel meeting at Muslim primary if he has any.
“No one can block this launch apart from the inspector general of police and on grounds of insecurity of which he hasn’t because his investigation has revealed that what is ailing this region is political fevers.” Said Khalwale.
He rubbished claims that the Ford Kenya team may be blocked to access the venue tomorrow, wondering how the governor could commander police officers from the county yet security is not devolved.
He claims that governor Oparanya is behind the harassments being experienced as an individual and not ODM as a party explaining that the party leader Raila Odinga is very much for the launch.
Terming the governor’s politics as outdated, Khalwale says that Oparanya may not get a slot in the CORD family in their race to state house next year.

He added that they have paid Kshs. 100 000 for the venue and cannot accept back the money this late.
Addressing journalists in Kakamega town, the Ford Kenya youth leader Benard Wakoli has expressed his disappointments on the way ODM as a party in Kakamega County is treating them yet they belong to the same family.
Wakoli called upon the ODM leadership to give respect to all the parties that form CORD explaining that there is none with a senior share to the other.
He has categorically stated that the outcome of tomorrow’s launch will dictate their future move in the CORD family.
He has called upon the county government of Kakamega to allow them launch their bid without frustrations explaining that the three co principles will get a chance each to be nominated and the best will carry CORD’S flag.
Wakoli wonder’s what the governor’s intentions are yet he is not vying for presidency.”
“It is like denying your brother an okay to marry a lady and giving a neighbor’s son an okay to marry the same lady.” Said Wakoli.
