Erastus Edung is a distinguished Kenyan Advocate with a profound commitment to justice and sustainable development. His extensive academic background and diverse professional experience have equipped him with a unique and comprehensive understanding of law, energy, project management, and peacebuilding.
Mr. Edung holds a Master of Laws (LLM) Degree in Oil, Gas & Energy Law from the University of Derby (UK), earned in 2016. This specialized knowledge complements his Master of Science Degree in Project Management from the University of Liverpool and a Master of Arts Degree in Peace, Conflict & Development Studies from Universidad Jaume I (Spain). His dedication to human rights is further underscored by a Post Graduate Certificate in Implementation of International Human Rights Treaties (British Foreign & Commonwealth Chevening Fellowship) from the University of Nottingham (UK), obtained in 2007.
His legal foundation was laid with a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Government (2003) and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi (2011).
Mr. Edung’s professional journey reflects his multifaceted expertise. He has served as a Consultant Partner at Northern Consulting Solution and E. Ethekon & Co. Advocates since 2004, demonstrating his enduring commitment to legal practice. From 2018 to 2024, he held the significant role of County Attorney in the Office of the County Attorney for the County Government of Turkana, contributing his legal acumen to public service.
His international experience includes a pivotal role as Programme Advisor at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Regional Service Centre for Africa & African Union (AU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 2016. Prior to this, he served as Program Coordinator & Chief Technical Advisor on Area Based Development Programming in Kenya, UNRCO from 2015 to 2018. His long-standing association with UNDP also includes his role as Programs Management Specialist from 2007 to 2015.
