University students have been advised to focus on studies and avoid indulging in activities that will sway them out of their life ambitions.
Addressing students from Kisii University who toured Lugari Sub-County, the area Sub County Administrator Geoffrey Lumbasi urged them to utilize the time well to avoid regretting in future.
“The future depends on you, therefore you should make good use of this opportunity given to you by your parents and be productive members in the society,” said Lumbasi.
Lumbasi disclosed that many students in higher education were beneficiaries of the Kakamega County Higher Education Loans Board.
He said every year best students from all Sub-Counties in Kakamega are sponsored by county HELB to pursue courses of their choice in various universities in and even outside the country.
The Sub-County Administrator called on the students who are soon completing their studies to be innovative and find something to do for a living while at home waiting to be employed.
“I urge you after graduation, have an open mind, don’t go home and wait for the job, do something legal for a living,” Lumbasi emphasized.
He also asked students to ensure they are enlisted as voters in order for them to exercise their democratic rights at the time of general elections.
