Various youth, women and people living with disabilities (PWDs) groups from across Tinderet constituency have received cheques worth Ksh 3.18 million from the Uwezo Fund to help them transform their lives through various initiatives. The area Julius Melly who presided over the issuance of the Uwezo Fund cheques at his constituency development fund offices, urged the beneficiaries of the Fund to utilise it well.
Melly said that the Uwezo Fund is there to benefit women, youths and people living with disabilities, and urged those who have not joined any group to do so as it will provide an opportunity for them to access loans and grants from the government. He said that the Uwezo Fund along with other grants like the affirmative action, provides mentorship opportunities to beneficiaries.
On the other hand the DCC for Tinderet sub county Mrs. Grace Oyagi urged the beneficiaries to utilise the funds properly. Youth groups who spoke to the press cited that the Uwezo Fund kitty has uplifted their lives as they venture in different businesses, a situation which has enabled them to transform the society appealing to their fellow youths who have not joined groups to form and register to enable them access funds.
