A veteran journalist, John Wanjala Muganda was laid to rest in his home at Mwanga A village, Kibisi, Mbakalo ward Tongaren constituency in Bungoma County.
His colleagues in the media industry; Simbi, Catherine Walubengo, Roseland Simbi and Titus Oteba eulogized Muganda as a journalist who had passion in his work, a straight forward person who had a heart of mentoring junior journalists in the industry and never entertained lies or propaganda.
His family led by his wife madam Veronica Mumbo and Innocent Wanjala said that Muganda as the head of the family was a man of few words, loved and valued his family, supported his wife in doing family and church activities without restrictions, this enabled her serve as the Presiding clerk of Bungoma Village Meeting Friends church and the chairperson of United Society of Friends Women (USFW) Bungoma monthly meeting.
CEC of roads in the county government of Bungoma Collins Mukhongo who also attended the burial ceremony of Muganda assured Tongaren people that the county government of Bungoma, the area MP in conjunction with West Kenya sugar company will start refurbishing roads in the area that are in pathetic conditions, the problem he cited that is caused by West Kenya trucks.
Muganda succumbed on Wednesday, 3rd November 2021 while receiving treatment at Bungoma Referral Hospital where he was diagnosed to be diabetic.
Until his demise he has been working with Weekly Citizen Newspaper.
He has left a widow with three children.
