Vihiga County is among the most densely populated Counties in Kenya according to 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census results released on Friday. The Volume 1 to 4 of the results were released by the KNBS Director General Zachary Mwangi, who was accompanied by other officials including Treasury CS Ukur Yattani.
The most densely populated is Nairobi County, with a population of 6,247 people per square kilometre, followed by Mombasa County with a population of 5,495 people per square kilometre then Vihiga County with 1,047 people per square kilometre.
The population of other Counties in the Western region are also detailed. Bungoma County has a population of 552 people per square kilometre, Kakamega County has a population of 618 people per square kilometre, Busia has 527 people per square kilometre, and Trans Nzoia has 397 people per square kilometre.
