Vihiga Assembly speaker suspended over graft
A motion to Suspend Vihiga County Assembly Speaker Dan Chitwa over graft allegations has been a adopted by the House.
The House wants Chitwa be suspended and his conduct be investigated.
The suspension motion was filed by nominated MCA Nathan Kamidi and was adopted immediately when it was tabled before the house.
“The speaker must be suspended because he as the chair to the county assembly service board he has failed in his duties and he has overseen rampant corruption at the assembly,” Kamidi said.
Kamidi tabled a few documents and said he would table more documents to the adhoc committee selected to investigate the speaker.
“Some of the staff at the assembly are also faced with numerous court cases under the speaker’s watch,” he said.

He said the speaker must be suspended indefinitely because his leadership has been marred by court cases and failed to direct the assembly.
The adhoc Committee Members are Chairman Jackson Musoga, Reuben Ombima, Nixon Butia, Miss. Vena Kaisha, Zachayo Manyasa, Tom Atingo, Nathan Okila, Abdall Chogo, Mourine Ambasa and Khalid Balala.
