Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo today re-launched the construction of Vihiga County Referral Hospital plaza at a cost of Ksh300 million. The construction of the project stalled a few years ago after the former County Government under the leadership of former Governor Moses Akaranga failed to set aside funds for the completion of the project.
The six-floor building will have a general ward, surgical ward, isolation ward and private ward. He said it’s one of the projects his Government has initiated to improve health care in the County.
Ottichilo noted that he has set aside Ksh. 10 million to facelift other health facilities around the County. He said Governors in Western region are planning to unveil the Lake region economic block to foster the development of the region.
The County Boss added that talks were underway to come up with an economic block that will boost social, economic and development of the region.
The Counties include Vihiga, Kakamega, Busia, Nyamira, Kisii, Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Homa Bay and Migori. He urged leaders in the Country to promote National cohesion.
