70 bright and needy students from Vihiga County have benefited from Governor Wilber Ottichilo’s bursary scholarship at a tune of Kshs 7 million. Pupils who scored 370 and above marks in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and from poor backgrounds were eligible for the scholarship.

The programme will cover full tuition fees, shopping and transport of the students as well as a mentoring programme. He added that files for each student will be created to monitor their performance and conduct in school, noting that his administration will offer mentorship programme for three days after the closure of schools. The County boss wished the students good luck in their endeavours and asked the parents to take good care of their children.
