Members of the Virhembe Salaams Club based in Shinyalu sub county under the Kakamega flying umbrella have been urged to carry themselves with decorum with decent standards in order to attract other groups to join West Media salaams clubs. The call came from the umbrella chair Chris Nyongesa who noted that the sub county has only one Salaams club and urged them to be vibrant and bring others on board.
Nyongesa was speaking during a funds drive for the Salaams club that took place in Shinyalu, where Kshs 65,000 was raised to aid the club financially.
Speaking at the function, the chair Monica Muchesia revealed that they had benefited as a group since they commenced in 2017. She said that they have been able to indulge in a number of developmental activities.
Nyongesa hinted that a number of groups that have already benefited are already running various businesses including M-Pesa dealer points, tents and chairs for hire among others. The merry go rounds are held monthly and all the groups are eligible to participate.
