Pregnant mothers in Sirisia Sub County have been called upon to visit clinics for antenatal care as it is important for their health and their unborn babies.
Sirisia Sub County Medical Superintendent Mrs. Dinah Nyasuru said the death rate of mothers giving birth has gone down after an initiative to help pregnant mothers access hospitals to give birth.
She said with the introduction of Linda Mama program mothers are given a package of goodies to help and sustain them immediately after delivery.
“The program has really helped and encouraged our mothers to deliver in hospitals, we are really proud of it and we have achieved our target as the hospital,” said Mrs. Nyasuru.
She added that the hospital purchased medical equipment including ultrasound machine to help mothers, now our mothers cannot travel to Bungoma Referral hospital to seek for the service.
Mrs. Nyasuru further said other services including eye clinic and dental were launched at the hospital and Sirisia people can now easily get the services at the hospital.
