Residents of Wabukhonyi and Misemwa sub locations in Ndivisi ward, Webuye East constituency of Bungoma County have petitioned the Bungoma County assembly to have the two villages separated to two village units so as to have equitable governance. Led by the area MCA Martin Wanyonyi Pepela the residents said the population in the area is very high and therefore they qualify to have two village units which will have its own village administrator after they are employed.
Pepela said he will officially be supporting the petition on the floor of the house saying there are other areas which have a population that is less than one sub location of the area and called upon his colleagues in the County assembly to support him.
His sentiments were echoed by Mwembe, a resident of Ndivisi ward who said the two sub locations have been in existence for over ten years yet in other constituencies some sub locations have been created for only two years and have been adopted to be village units unanimously.
Pepela also called upon the National Cereals and Produce Board to ensure farmers who supplied maize to them are paid saying it is unfortunate that genuine farmers were not paid yet cartels were paid on time.
He also called upon leaders from Western Kenya to retreat and formulate a way forward for the 2022 presidential race saying the deputy president William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga are planning the same route and therefore those from the Western region should also chat a way forward.
