Following persistent complaints from coffee farmers in Bungoma County, the Senate Agriculture Committee has organized a special visit tomorrow, Saturday, to witness the actual situation and seek solutions to the challenges facing these farmers.
The committee, led by its chairman, the Senator for Bungoma, David Wakoli, is expected to undertake this visit with the main aim of listening directly from the farmers and finding ways to improve this important sector, while farmers from various agricultural sectors, including those dealing with dairy, poultry, fish, and especially coffee, will be involved.
Furthermore, during tomorrow’s visit, the senators will tour various agricultural projects in the areas of Chesikaki, Chwele, Kaptama, and other regions, giving them an opportunity to witness the successes achieved and also hear the various challenges that farmers go through in their daily activities.
