The Cabinet Secretary for Water and Irrigation Eugine Wamalwa has asked A.N.C party Musalia Mudavadi to drop his Presidential bid.
Wamalwa said retreating would be the best option for the former deputy prime minister as he continues to consolidate and marshals up support in the region and across the Country.
He said Mudavadi was well suited for the top job saying giving up his bid is not a sign of cowardnes but planning coming out strongly and capturing the presidency.
“In the last general election I was the only senior politician from these region who supported my senior brother Mudavadi bid for the presidency when other politician gave up due to their selfish reason, but I can only advise him to rethink and plan well on how to achieve his political ambition” Wamalwa said.
Speaking at Maragoli Cultural Festivals at Vihiga Municipal grounds at Mbale the Cabinet Secretary said he is ready to support Mudavadi and work with him to elevate western region politics.
He urged the Luhya community to register as voters saying the records from the IEBC offices in region showed that there are very few registered voters currently.
Mudavadi who is the Patron of the Maragoli Cultural festivals reiterated his desire to go for the presidency saying nothing is going to deter him from that.
He said now he has his own party Amani National Congress (A.N.C) the outfit he said he is going to ride on in the coming general election.
Mudavadi encouraged the Luhya Community to join the party and go for membership cards.
