Busia Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa has revealed that the County Government has not received any formal communication on the President’s visit to the County on Friday.
Social media reports are abuzz with the President’s visit to the County which will take him to Teso North, Teso South, Matayos and Bunyala Sub Counties to launch various projects.
Addressing the press in his office, the DG said they are ready to receive the President anytime but it is unfortunate no official communication has been received from the Office of the President.
“I talked to the County Commissioner John Chelimo and it seems he didn’t have any idea of the President’s visit to the County. This has now left us in a dilemma. We cannot act on rumours. The President is our leader who should be accorded the respect he deserves but with such scanty information our hands will remain tied,” said Wangalwa.
Chelimo said Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong called him on Wednesday to find out why his office had not received any official communication on the President’s tour to the County.
“I confirmed verbally that the President will tour the County to inspect various development projects. We shall receive the full itinerary in the course of the day,” he said.
