Webuye West MP hopeful Kennedy Wanjala has urged the State through the Ministry
of Health to intervene and solve the nurses’ strike which has affected many Kenyans. The nurses have been on strike across the country, demanding a better pay package and good working conditions.
He said that the strike has already led to deaths and more should be done to avert more negative consequences. Wanjala, who is also the Maendeleo Chap Chap party chairman in Bungoma urged the Health Cabinet Secretary to address the matter fast, adding that the health of citizens must be prioritized.
“We want all stakeholders to sit down and find an agreement concerning this issue because the health of Kenyans is a very sensitive matter,” he said.
He also urged politicians and residents to shun retrogressive politics that won’t put food on the table as times are tough. “I want to appeal to my fellow politicians, let’s not engage in witch hunt politics and maligning others,” he said, “But let’s all preach peace and promote issue-based politics.”
