Mumias East MP Ben Washiali has affirmed that Deputy President William Ruto won’t resign from the Jubilee party, even after the party secretary Raphael Tuju said the Jubilee NMC had recommended his expulsion from the party to the National Executive Council. Tuju said the move is due to the fact that DP Ruto and his allies have already opened and set up another splinter party, Jubilee Asili.
However, the DP’s allies have always insisted they won’t heed to Tuju’s calls. “The problem is being caused by people who have interest in taking over in 2022,” said Washiali who was speaking in his constituency, “You can’t run away from your home because someone else is admiring your wife.”
The MP said the DP is still in government and he has never complained about the President, “Ruto was appointed by Kenyans to be who he is today…and he’ll be there until 2022 when he’ll take over as a President.”
