Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali has been axed from the National Assembly Majority Whip position and has Ben replaced by Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe. The new changes were made at the Jubilee parliamentary group meeting at State House on Tuesday as President Uhuru Kenyatta continues party changes targeting those who aren’t committed to his agenda.
The meeting was chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta and was attended by Deputy President William Ruto, Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju and 212 MPs.
Nominated MP Cecily Mbarire has also lost her position as the Deputy Majority Whip and she has been replaced by Igembe North MP Maoka Maore. However, the Majority Leader Aden Duale has survived the chop, and he remains the National Assembly Majority Leader.
Speaker Justin Muturi also retains his leadership position, Moses Chebosi remains the Deputy Speaker and Jimmy Angwanyi the Deputy Majority Leader. During the meeting, it was agreed that changes will be effected at the House Committees.
