Health workers from Webuye County Hospital have started receiving coronavirus vaccination. According to Webuye county hospital medical superintendent Dr Simon Kisaka, more than 350 health workers from the facility are set to receive the vaccine. Dr Kisaka said that most of the health workers from Webuye have been affected so much by the virus given that they have been working closely with victims and appreciated the Ministry of Health for providing the vaccination that will help them a lot.
Kisaka said that health workers from hospitals and health centres from Webuye West and East sub-counties are also going to receive the vaccinations that will run until May so that to make sure that every health worker has received.
His sentiments were echoed by other health workers among them Mr. Chrisantos Ongulo who said health workers meet many patients among them Covid-19 victims and the vaccine will help them against being affected and encouraged all the health workers to come out in large numbers and be vaccinated for their own benefit.
Also, those earmarked are security guards, police officers, caretakers, cooks among others who will also receive the vaccines. Webuye County Hospital has put strict measures to make sure that all patients who visit the hospital are made to wash their hands and social distance too is kept. Everyone must have a face mask well worn to secure themselves from the virus.
