Webuye East Member of Parliament, Martin Pepela, has praised St. Cecilia Misikhu Girls’ Secondary School for its remarkable academic performance, highlighting the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders in ensuring quality education.
Speaking at a Thanksgiving Mass held at the school, Pepela lauded the school’s leadership, particularly the Principal and the school management board, for their dedication and hard work that led to the impressive results. He urged them to continue their efforts to maintain and further improve the school’s performance.
“I would like to thank you, Madam Principal. You have shown us that it is possible to transform an institution,” said Pepela. “We want to thank you and your team for leading the way and for demonstrating that it is possible to transform and turn around an institution.”
The school’s performance has shown significant improvement, with the average score rising to 7.75 from 6.2 the previous year, an accomplishment that has earned the school recognition within the community and beyond.
Pepela emphasized that this transformation is not just a reflection of the school’s leadership but a collaborative effort involving the entire community—parents, teachers, and students. “I want to assure you that we will walk with you on this journey, right from the management, parents, and the 2025 class, to ensure that we achieve the targets you have set,” he affirmed.
He further acknowledged the importance of setting goals. “No individual can succeed without a target. I am here today because I set my own target in my life to change everything when nobody believed in or understood me,” Pepela shared, encouraging the school’s leadership to continue setting ambitious targets for future success.
The Chairman of the School’s Board, Andrew Ndiema, also praised the leaders for their efforts in improving the school’s performance, while Maraka Ward Representative, Ali Majani, called for greater collaboration among local leaders to ensure sustained development in the region.
