Webuye East MP Martin Pepela Wanyonyi has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the development of Wandabwa area, with a particular focus on enhancing local infrastructure and supporting the community.
Speaking at the burial of Mzee Isaiah Mwinami in Wandabwa, Hon. Wanyonyi updated the public on the ongoing projects in the region and highlighted his plans for further improvement.
Wandabwa Primary School facelift nearing completion
One of the most notable developments in the area is the facelift of Wandabwa Primary School. The renovation work is nearing completion, promising a better learning environment for the students and staff. “The ongoing facelift of Wandabwa Primary School is on course and almost done,” Hon. Wanyonyi stated during his address. This project is part of his broader commitment to improving education infrastructure in the region and ensuring that students have access to safe, conducive learning environments.
Improving mobility: Malomonye-Wandabwa bridge to be repaired
Although the Malomonye-Wandabwa Bridge falls under the jurisdiction of the County Government, Hon. Wanyonyi assured the community that he would soon undertake repairs to the bridge to ease mobility. The current state of the bridge has posed challenges for local residents, and its repair will significantly enhance connectivity and facilitate economic activities in the area.
Condolences to families in mourning
In addition to his focus on development, Hon. Wanyonyi has taken time to condole with families in the region who lost their loved ones. He expressed his deepest sorrow and solidarity with the family of the late Mzee Edward Nyongesa in Makuselwa Village, Ndivisi Ward, following their loss. “I stand with the family in this difficult time,” he remarked.
He also paid his respects to the family of the late Officer Joshua Wanjala in Chebukora Village, Ndivisi Ward. Praising the late officer for his dedication and service to the nation, the MP acknowledged the loss felt by the community. “The late was a man of great courage, and his unwavering commitment to serving the nation will always be remembered,” he said.
Progress on Namarambi headquarters construction
The MP expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the ongoing construction of the Namarambi Headquarters in Makuselwa, a project that is expected to bring significant administrative and developmental improvements to the area. The completion of the headquarters is expected to strengthen local governance and enhance the delivery of services to the residents of Ndivisi Ward.
Plans for Namarambi Secondary School expansion
On education, Hon. Wanyonyi revealed plans to acquire land for the expansion of educational facilities in the area. The MP announced that plans are underway to purchase a 2-acre piece of land for Namarambi Secondary School.
