West Media fans converged at Emuhuni Primary School grounds in Navakholo Sub County, Kakamega County during the official launch of a new Salaams club, Emuhuni Mumbo FM Salaams club.
During the launch, West Media fans chairman, Kakamega County Chris Nyongesa assured the members of goodies which will be availed through several projects that are currently underway. He said that the Kakamega umbrella has initiated a programme that is targeting bright pupils from poor family backgrounds, aiming to give them scholarships up to university level, especially from its registered members.
On the other side, West Media Saalams club patron John Kabaka said that it will be better for all members to register for NHIF that will help them to cater for their medical bills whenever they are in need. He added that the groups have given them an upper hand when it comes to getting financial support from money lending institutions.
Emuhini Mumbo Salaams club is among the 84 Saalams Club within Kakamega County, attracting more than 3,000 fully registered members. Among them are officials from the County government of Kakamega who have promised to fund the groups.
