Hundreds of West Media fans attended the burial of Bramwel Wafula Nyongesa, the son of mama Mary Nyongesa of the Rainbow Salaams club in Maraka ward, Webuye East constituency where they called for unity among their clubs and its members for the sake of prosperity.
Addressing mourners, the Webuye East Sub County chairman of West Media Salaams Clubs Mr. Joseph Syangu, said the clubs have been important, since many members have received help economically, and they’ve learnt to live and work together, “We are from different denominations and tribes, but we’ve learnt to work together and uplift each other,” he said. He lauded West Media for starting Mumbo FM, adding that it has attracted many listeners across the Western region, and that the programs aired are vital to the current generation. He urged the management to consider starting Mumbo TV, where viewers can enjoy Luhya TV programs.
His sentiments were echoed by the Chairman of the Lurare Salaams Club Paul Khaemba, who said Webuye East and Webuye West residents enjoy West Media programs, since they impact the lives of people and are educative. He urged the radio presenters to present interview opportunities with the Salaam Clubs members. He also urged more people to join the Clubs, as they can achieve progress and development together, citing how difficult it is to get financial support without affiliations to groups. Mama Mary Nyongesa thanked the West Media family for standing with her during her hard times, and she eulogized her son as a friendly person, who was also a great man.
