West Pokot leader of majority in the County Assembly who is also Sekerr Ward Member of County Assembly Thomas Ngolesia has passed on after a short illness.
The Kenya African National Union (KANU) MCA died while undergoing treatment at St. Luke’s hospital in Eldoret on Tuesday afternoon.
Ngolesia has been vibrant in his campaigns as he was targeting to unseat Sigor constituency Member of Parliament Peter Lochakapong in the coming 2022 elections.
He was vying for MP for Sigor Constituency after serving as a Sekerr Ward representative for two consecutive terms.
His death has shocked many of his supporters and West Pokot County leaders as they mourn the demise of the eloquent and great debater at the County Assembly.
His mastery of English language at the County Assembly out -shined the rest as he could debate in fluent English, table bills and most of the time he could stand his ground when the County Assembly was divided earning his nickname as “crossfire”
West Pokot County Senator Samuel Poghisio conveyed his message of condolences to residents of West Pokot County and his family members citing that Hon. Ngolesia fought corruption at the Assembly and was sorrowful for his departure when he was needed most.
” He represented people from Sekerr ward, I trusted him because he was hardworking and stood his ground.” He said.
He added that he was informed of his sickness a week ago and he had sought medication at Nairobi hospital last week and had recovered but he was rushed to hospital complaining of stomach aches unfortunately he passed away while on medication.
“We have been doing our campaigns together since 2017 he contributed a lot towards our win and all we leave to GOD.” He said.
“His body is being preserved at Eldoret St Luke’s hospital mortuary awaiting burial arrangements.” He said
KANU Chairman Gideon Moi conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and the County Assembly of West Pokot for the loss of their Majority Leader Hon. Ng’olesia.
“Hon. Ng’olesia was a dedicated elected member of the party and spearheaded our legislative agenda in the Assembly with passion and dedication.Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult period. May God rest his soul in eternal peace.” He said.
West Pokot Deputy Governor Dr. Nicholas Atudonyang remembered Hon. Ngolesia as the most powerful County Assembly Leader Of Majority and a staunch Catholic faithful and church leader.
