West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio has vowed to rally behind the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and would back its recommendations for reforms that would better the lives of Kenyans.
The Senator said that he is ready to support the report because Kenyans from every County were consulted adding that it will take the country forward and create peaceful coexistence.
He said that it was shame for people who are jostling for positions and engaging in political fights over the BBI initiative. “We shall know the truth once the report is unfolded, we shall know what the document contains. People have formulated their ideas and wrong assumptions,” he said “I want to confirm my support for the BBI because it is meant to ensure there is no bloodshed after every election.”
Speaking to the press in Kapenguria, Poghisio appealed to Kenyans and bickering politicians in the country to be patient and wait for the report to be released.
The senator affirmed that talking about its contents would not be an objective undertaking as the contents had not been made public. “We are waiting patiently for the document so we are appealing to people not to start talking about the BBI because they have not seen the document.”
