West Pokot County Assembly Speaker Mr. Robert Katina has endorsed Governor Simon Kachapin’s re-election bid. Katina said he is confident that Kachapin will scoop the seat in the August polls, in order for him to complete the projects he has started in the County.
Speaking in Kapenguria, Katina said he has closely scrutinized the Governor and thinks he deserves to be given a second term, “We want him to leave a better legacy because he is among best Governors in the country,” said Katina.
He praised the incumbent Governor for giving the County Assembly freedom and independence in its operations, “During his tenure in office, Kachapin gave us an enabling environment to work without antagonism,” he said.
He pointed out that Kachapin was always doing consultations with the County Assembly especially on matters pertaining budgeting and bills, “Before bills are formulated he always calls” he said. He further said the Governor has tackled corruption in the County and is a trustworthy person who shuns propaganda.
The incumbent Governor will battle it out with the current West Pokot Senator John Lonynagapuo, who also has a huge backing from Members of County Assembly.
