Leaders from Western part of Kenya have been urged to unite and speak one language as the region heads towards the 2022 elections. This comes even as leaders from the region have started forming pacts and choosing sides, heightened by the Ford Kenya party rift. Paul Watenya, who is a politician from Tongaren constituency has said this is a time when Kenyans are grappling with Covid-19 and leaders should put their differences aside and come with ways to help vulnerable families.
He has urged Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula and Tongaren MP David Eseli to put aside their differences, meet and discuss the issues that have riddled the Ford Kenya party instead of dragging out their differences in public. On Thursday, the Registrar of Political Parties directed the disputing sides in the party to find a solution according to the party constitution.
