Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula has agreed to endorese Musalia Mudavadi’s Presidential aspirations according to Lugari MP Ayub Savula. The MP said during a meeting at Mudavadi’s residence that brought together more than 20 MPs from the Western region, Wetangula agreed to support Mudavadi, attributing more prominence as the reason. He said at the moment the leaders from the region are united and don’t want to be used by others for political gain, “The problem in Western had been that the Bukusu and Maragoli were always against each other, now the Western region is walking in the right direction….Right now people who are not on Musalia’s side will have problems.”
Speaking during an interview on West FM’s Crossfire on Sunday night, Savula reiterated that he was offered Kshs 17 million to stage a coup at ANC but he refused, ntoing that he couldn’t disprespect Mudavadi and accept to be used like Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi and Tongaren MP David Eseli, “Musalia and Wetangula are my elders and I respect them. When they leave I’ll take over from where they’ve left off,” he said. According to him, the leaders who engineered the wrangles at Ford Kenya and planned a possible mix up at ANC want young leaders to take over the parties so that they can be easily manipulated to benefit others.
On the notion that the ANC party officials’ terms have ended and party elections should be held, the Lugari MP refuted the claims , saying niominated MP Godfrey Osotsi, who revelaed the detail, isn’t a member of ANC anymore. He said the party’s National Executive Council submits its returns yearly, and has already sunbmiited the names of officials to the Registrar of Political Parties, the same thing other parties like Jubilee, ODM and Wiper have done, to the RPP’s approval. He added that the party can’t call for national elections now becaue of the Coronavirus.
