The widows of the three killed by a blast at Karebe Gold miners three months ago, are now demanding for justice afresh after the Court terminated the case against the ten suspects linked to the deaths.
Speaking to journalists at Chemase region, the widows Sheila Agui and Caroline Rotich both widows of the late Kipchumba Rotich, revealed that since their husband died in a blast, they have not had peace following the pressure to settle the case outside courts.
“We have been under pressure and have received threats by strangers cautioning us against taking any legal part on the case and that we will suffer dire consequences if we proceed.” The lamented
The widows have ordered for afresh probe into the matter saying that justice delayed is justice denied and that the court denied them justice after releasing the ten suspects of the blast which was wrong since lives were lost.
They insisted that all suspects implicated in the crime must face the law without any favour, citing harassment by very influential figures in their quest to seek legal redress.
“We will fight for justice of our deceased husbands to the end. We are out to ensure justice is served for us. “They insisted.
The Court through the Office of the Directorate of the Public Prosecutions terminated the case against the ten suspects linked to the deaths of the three miners saying that there was no enough evidence to hold them accountable or charged.
