Bungoma County Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany has assured Muslim faithful that the County will set up a development fund that is in tandem with their religion .
In her address during the International Muslim Commemoration Birth of Prophet Muhammed organized by Khayrat Muslim Women at the Muslim Community center in Bungoma, Mbatiany acknowledged that there was need to start a fund that was interest free according to the Muslim teaching.
“Matters religion are very sensitive and must be respected, in that regard we will ensure that as we set up trade loans we factor in your beliefs that don’t allow paying of interests ,” said Mbatiany.
The Deputy Governor emphasized that Governor Lusaka was focused on development, empowerment and bettering the lives of residents at all costs.
“We are not taking your support to us in the last elections for granted, we will ensure that all your requests are taken care of,” she promised
Mbatiany used the opportunity to contribute towards completion of the perimeter wall around the Muslim Community Center .
Also in attendance was Township MCA Jeremiah Kuloba, Bungoma Senatorial by-election aspirants Wafula Wakoli, Mwambu Mabonga and other leaders.
