Former Member of Parliament William Ole Ntimama is dead. The former cabinet minister was the most serving Narok North MP. William Ole Ntimama died on Thursday night at his rural home in Narok. He died of natural causes according to his family, and his body has been taken to Nairobi.
Ntimama was a renowned leader of the Maasai community and was at the forefront when it came to establishing the community as a main political force. Even though he lost his parliamentary seat to Moitalel Ole Kenta, his influence in the community remained.
He served for 15 years as the chairperson of the Narok County Council, and a further 25 years as a Member of Parliament. At the time of his death, Ntimama was aged 86 years, after retiring from active politics in September 2013.
