Panic has gripped Kona Mbaya Junction village, Nzoia location in Likuyani Sub County following beastly murder of a woman, with warning notes scribbled and attached on her body.
Confirming the beastly act to the press, Likuyani Officer Commanding Police Station (OCPD), Mr. Meshack Kemboi Kiptum, said the victim’s body was discovered by Mr. Ben Khayumbi on Monday morning.
“Khayumbi was leaving for work on Monday morning when he spotted the body that had been dumped by the roadside, just a few metres from his compound’s main entrance gate,” said Kiptum.

The man immediately raised the alarm, which attracted attention of Police officers at Matunda station to the scene.
According to the OCPD, two handwritten notes were found on the body, one claiming identity of the deceased while the second alleged the authors’ next murder target.
“On the deceased’s forehead was a sticker with the words, ‘Everlyne Waswa from Tongaren,” said Kiptum.
The runaway gang scribbled an alarming note on the deceased’s feet, which said, ‘next to be killed is Caroline Isachi from Kona Mbaya market.’
The deceased’s mouth was stuffed with a piece of old cloth, which according to security officers was indication enough she was strangled to death, “since her body did not have any pronounced blood or visible injuries,” added Kiptum.
“We suspect the woman was killed elsewhere before her murderers transported the body to Kona Mbaya junction village,” said Kiptum who added his officers had already liaised with their counterparts in Tongaren in a bid to establish identity of the deceased as well as her killers.
The body was removed and transferred to Kitale County hospital mortuary where an autopsy was scheduled to be carried on it.
The exact identity of the diseased had not been established by time of going to press.
The police boss told journalists next to the death threat was a mobile phone number, which when dialed was received by a woman who identified herself as Evelyn Isachi, but not Caroline Isachi as indicated on the warning message.
“Even though, Evelyn Isachi confirmed she was a business lady at Kona Mbaya market,” stated the OCPD who revealed different security agencies in the sub county had already instituted investigations into the matter.
The official assured members of the public that Evelyn Isachi will in the meantime be provided with maximum security in order to guard her against possible harm from the unidentified gang.
Kiptum has urged area residents to be extra careful and at the same time urged the public to volunteer any information that could help with arrest of the killers.
