Youths in Nambale Township ward, Nambale Consituency, Busia county have been mobilized to keep peace as a strength and be vigilant in this political season.
In an ODM political rally in Nambale Township ward which was led by Oleketora John who is the national youth ODM and Azimio president and Leanard Wanzala an aspirant for Nambale Township ward said youths have been asked to stay away from corrupt and crude leaders who would want to use them to create chaos during rallies.
While addressing the press, Oleketora stated youths are bitter with wrong leadership who are put in power and end up not delivering what they promised in their manifesto. He said as a nation there is need for a substantial change in the system starting from the President to ward leaders for good leadership.
He added that change is possible if leaders devoted in construction of industries which will create job opportunities and market from local produce like farms and animals.
“When our economy grows, when we have big industries being build and employing people, when we have our local produce , either farm and animals and big industries working and complementing each other, that is when our economic system will change and grow,” stated Oleketora
Oleketora has assured Azimio leader Raila Odinga supporters to avoid worry on election deffroud stating that as a coalition they have systems in place to secure their votes.
“This time round, nobody is going to rig Raila Amollo Odinga’s votes, neither is anybody going to steal the votes of any Azimio candidate, we are prepared as young people, we have generated a database of those who are going to be our agents at the stations,” he added
On the other side, Leonard Wanzala has asked youths to know their democratic rights. He adds that wrong election is the spearhead to wrong leaders which result to poor standards of living.
“Election is the way to elect good leaders who will bring change and development. Bad election leads to bad leadership.” Said Wanzala
Wanzala has made it clear that some citizens are not well versed with the manifesto of the politicians and the visions on parties, he states that they are torn between on what to follow, for most politicians choose on parties that go hand in hand with their manifestos.
Youths similarly led by Elphaz Kwoba have agreed to keep distance from the crude politicians and bring leadership to youthful leaders.
“For a long time we have been used by politicians badly, we have been used to create chaos and disrupt peace, we have been bought and instructed to do things that destroy our economy and unity. This time round we are electing leaders who are youthful and will be close to us.” Kwoba noted
