Outgoing Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka thanked Bungoma residents for giving him an opportunity to be their first governor.
Lusaka said he will be always be indebted to them, “I want to accept defeat and wish my brother Wycliffe Wangamati well as he takes the mantle of leading this County picking from where we left. I also thank the people of Bungoma for electing me in 2013 overwhelmingly as their first governor and for giving me support to transform our County, you’ll always be in my heart,” said Lusaka.
He also appreciated the residents of Bungoma for voting for Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto and surpassing the total tally from the County compared to the 2013 count, “I appreciate Bungoma residents for voting for Jubilee and President Uhuru Kenyatta, posting more than a hundred thousand votes and also electing four Jubilee Members of Parliament and several MCAs. They’ve shown they have faith in the Jubilee government.”
The four MPs are Dan Wanyama of Webuye West, Didmus Barasa of Kimilili, Fred Kapondi of Mt. Elgon and John Waluke of Sirisia constituency. Lusaka also thanked his staff for working diligently to serve Bungoma residents.
