A few days after officially opening of the Chwele chicken factory in Kabuchai constituency by Bungoma County governor Ken Lusaka opinion leaders in the County have come up to request the County government not to sell the factory to a private investor to run it.
Speaking during a funeral ceremony of the late John Sitati Makhapila at Namisi village of Kimilili constituency Engineer Wenyaa said after investing forty million in the factory the County government needs to ensure it benefits the people of Bungoma County up to the future generation saying it is in the right place to manage it compared to a private investor.
He added the County government should also roll out a program of helping residents in proper poultry farming saying since the factory has been officially launched it needs to benefit the Bungoma County residents themselves who must be the regular suppliers of chicken.

The engineer who has expressed interest of vying for the Kimilili parliamentary seat also expressed concern over the dilapidated road network in the area of Sango and Namisi saying the county government in collaboration with the national government needs to work together to rehabilitate the roads on a regular basis.
Regarding re – opening of pan paper factory engineer Wenyaa urged the president to ensure the projection is not a farfetched dream saying Webuye town has remained in slumber after the factory collapsed saying many who were working there are leading a desperate life.
He further called upon the management not to chase away former workers from the company houses without a proper procedure saying they deserve compensation as well as being reinstated to the company as soon as it starts rolling.
“Many of the workers have not found an alternative employment since the collapse and surely needs to be considered and also many of them have since passed on and deserve to have their kins take up job opportunities at the factory” he added.
