Business activities at Luanda market came to a standstill on Monday evening after a mob descended on a 50-year-old man, accused of sodomizing a 7 year old boy.
The sex pest identified as Araphat who operates a butchery and chips kiosk at Luanda market was ambushed by the angry mob in the heinous act.
Police from Luanda police station moved to the scene quickly and rescued the suspect from the hands of the mob who wanted to set him ablaze. The angry traders stormed his kiosk, beat him up, and destroyed all of his property.
The traders wondered why the man was making advances on young boys and yet he is married to two beautiful young wives.
“Let us teach him a lesson. Why is he going for young boys and yet he has two beautiful wives?” posed the charged mob.
According to those who witnessed the incident, the suspect has a habit of luring young boys to his kiosk, citing that he uses chips as bait. It is said he has been abusing street boys sexually.
“He has been giving us chips and asks us to go with him. When you buy chips at his kiosk he winks at you,” said the street boys at Luanda market.
The boy was rescued from the child predator and rushed to Equator Hospital for screening and treatment.
The suspect is being held at Luanda police station despite calls from the angry mob to have him lynched.
“We are holding the suspect who was cornered by the mob abusing the young boy. The police are carrying out investigations and he will be arraigned in court,” said Luanda police boss Monica Kimani.
