A boda boda operator died on the spot on Saturday morning while his colleague sustained serious injuries after they were involved in an accident along Nzoia–Lwandeti road in Lugari Sub County.
According to an eyewitness, one of the operators was carrying a passenger towards Lwandeti trading centre when his colleague identified as Chachi Mayukuma who was over speeding rammed into them from the rear.
Both motorbikes veered off the road landing into a ditch with Mayukuma dying on the spot after sustaining serious head injuries.
His colleague who also sustained serious injuries was rescued and rushed to Webuye Sub County hospital where he is admitted while his passenger sustained no injuries. Mayukuma’s body was removed by traffic police officers from Turbo and taken to Chebaiywa mortuary in the neighbouring Uasin Gishu county.
