Nandi residents led by the County government officials gathered to witness the Marathon set in Berlin, Germany at the sports house grounds in Kapsabet where the event was streamed live.

Those interviewed including former world marathon champion Abel Kirui, and Nandi Sports CEC Elly Kurgat lauded the efforts made by the coaches to train the sterling performers. They urged athletes to emulate Kipchoge and steer clear of performance enhancers which have halted the dreams of many athletes.

Nandi Governor Stephen Sang lauded the medalists and termed Eliud Kipchoge’s performance as “a spectacular run”, “Thumbs up too Amos Kipruto and Wilson Kipsang for a 2nd and 3rd place finish. Kenya is proud! Nandi is proud!” he tweeted.
